Mrs. Mozie Lee Wilks Baldwin, 88 transitioned to her heavenly home on Monday, October 14, 2013 at The GrayBrier Nursing & Retirement Center following an extended illness.
Mozie was born on June 11, 1925 in Chester County, South Carolina to Mattie Sanders Wilks and Levi Wilks. Relocating from Brooklyn, New York to High Point, she worked as a Domestic. Mrs. Baldwin was a longtime faithful member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. Dedicated to serving, she was a member of the Missionary Circle No. 1 as well as other church auxiliaries.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters.
Surviving relatives include a devoted niece, Arlean Wilkes of the home; adopted nieces, Maria Fleming of High Point, Creola (Wade) Solomon of Tarrytown, N.Y.; great nieces, Jackie Wilks and Patricia (David) Cheatom of Chester, S.C.; adopted nephew, Larry (Ann) Barr all of High Point; great nephews, Kenneth (Francina) Wilks of Chester, S.C., Anthony (Felicia) Wilks of Irmo, S.C., Arlo (Temeka) Wilks of Rock Hill, S.C., a host of cousins, other family and many friends, including Lessie Mack, Christine Haude, Beatrice and Kay Atkins, Marguerite Rich and members of Missionary Circle No. 1.
