A native of Nicholson, MS, he was a retired Painter and a member of Westlawn Baptist Church. Wilmon was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved was preceded in death by his parents, William Jefferson Downes, Jr. and Velma Patch Downes; his son, John Morris Downes; and his brother, James “Jimmy” Edward to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife of 51 years, Sybil Laurie Baucum Downes; his daughter, Sybil Marie Stockstill; 2 grandchildren, Shalyn (Zach) Miller, and Shaina Stockstill; his brother, George Wesley (Laurie) Downes; and nieces and nephews.
