Moriah Joy Phillips, 13, of Jacksonville, IL died Wednesday September 8, 2010 at Glenbrook Hospital in Glenview, IL.
She was born October 25, 1996 in Iowa City, IA and is survived by her parents, the Rev. Thomas P. and Beverly K. Staples Phillips of Jacksonville and three brothers, Joshua P. Phillips (wife, Megan) stationed with the US Air Force in Korea, Micah T. Phillips of Jacksonville, and Timothy J. Phillips of Jacksonville. She is also survived by her paternal grandparents, Gerhardt and Alice Phillips of Kaleva, MI; her maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Shirley Staples of Sarnia, Ontario, Canada; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Moriah formerly attended Illinois School for the Deaf in Jacksonville and Hope Institute in Springfield. She was currently a residential student at Center Glen in Northbrook. A child of God, Moriah was baptized into Christ on July 25, 1999 and was a member of Christ Lutheran Church of the Deaf in Jacksonville.
