Monroe Adell Adams of Sheridan, Arkansas was born February 4, 1928 in Hensley, Arkansas to the late William David Adams and Stella Hicks Adams. He died Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at his home in Sheridan at the age of 90.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Ruth Eloise Martin Adams, son, William David Adams, brother, WD Adams and sister, Wilma Adams Linton.
He is survived by three sons, Monroe, Jr. (Dale) of Yellville, James (Eddy) and wife Cindy of Redfield, and Michael (Mike) of Yellville; five grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren and his faithful fur friend Jake.
He joined the US Air Force at 18 years of age after administration school. He then joined the occupation force service in Japan 1947-1949. After returning to the US he went to tech college in Chicago. He worked a short time for a Caterpillar dealer then joined Reynolds-William, Inc. as equipment superintendent for 26 years before retirement.
He was a 50 year Mason past master of Gavel Lodge #532 and member of American Legion #343. He loved to fly light air planes, bass fish, hunt, gardening and traveling. He had a great sense of humor, liking to joke and believed that laughter was the secret to good health. He traveled the country with his wonderful, loving, travel companion Margaret Anders of many years.
He lived a good life despite recent years of heart disease and eventful heart failure. Even after receiving his terminal diagnosis, he was he was able to fulfill two goals, to deer hunt one more time and to celebrate his 90 birthday!
