On Sunday, January 30, 2022, Monica Lynn Fullmer Murray passed away peacefully at Home, surrounded by her loved ones.

Monica was born on June 16, 1970 in Ogden, Utah, to Cheryl Fuit and Lyle Johnston (later divorced). Monica was blessed in 1973, to gain another father, Terry Fullmer. Terry adored Monica and adopted her as his own.  Cheryl was known to tell her family, “Terry fell in love with Monica before me.” Together Cheryl and Terry raised Monica and her sisters in Clinton, Utah.

She attended Clinton Elementary, Sunset Jr. High, and Clearfield High School. Monica married Lance Hulse Murray on August 5, 1989, but they later divorced. Together they had their daughter, Talisha, in 1990.

Monica was an energetic, feisty, and fun spirit. She was wild and loved to live life. She enjoyed going fishing with her Grandpa Dean, and doing anything outdoors. She also loved driving her white Ford Mustangs and watching Raiders football. She was compassionate, loved animals, and had a big heart.

September 29, 1991, Monica was in a serious car accident and sustained a traumatic brain injury. Her injuries left her incapacitated and in a coma with a feeding tube for months. Through rehabilitation, hospital care, and her family’s love, Monica fought back and learned to eat and breath independently.

Monica’s parents were dedicated to her, and wanted her to be home with them. They devoted their lives to taking care of her, along with the help of her sisters and other family members. Through the diligence of her family, she was able to be involved and watch her daughter grow up, living at home for 20 years. Monica was an example of pure love, joy, and strength. She never gave up and always had a smile on her face.

She enjoyed listening to all genres of music including; The Eagles, Bon Jovi, and Metallica. She loved going on drives with her daughter, hanging out with family and friends, and watching her mom and aunt’s sing and dance. She loved to grab anything she could get ahold of, including: kids, dogs, pictures, and fire alarms at Mt. Ogden. Although she couldn’t speak, her smile and eyes said it all; she lit up the room and made everyone feel welcome. Her expressions were how she communicated, by just looking at her you knew how she felt.

Monica was placed at Rocky Mountain Care after her dad passed away and later moved to Mt. Ogden Health & Rehab. She was grateful for all the care she received from her caregivers over the last 10 years.

Monica was preceded in death by her grandparents: Dean & LaRue Fuit, Mel & Lois Fullmer, and parents: Terry & Cheryl Fullmer. She is survived by her father: Lyle Johnston; daughter: Talisha (Matthew) Gailey; sisters: Kelly Candelaria and Carrie (Caleb) Archer; grandsons: Hunter, Taggart, Kole, and Jaxon Gailey; nephews: Dylan & Jackson Sorenson and Saya Sarun.

Our family would like to thank all who cared for Monica over the last 10 years. A special thanks to the staff at Rocky Mountain Care (Clearfield), Mt. Ogden Health & Rehab, and Symbii Hospice.   Words are inadequate to express our gratitude for the love, care, and compassion you showed her.  Our Angel on Earth has finally got her wings – now we have our Guardian Angel watching over us.
