Monica L. Roach, 87, of Carlyle passed away on Tuesday May 24, 2011 at Saint Louis University Hospital. Mrs. Roach was born on March 19, 1924 in St. Louis the daughter of Leo and Ruth (Tackaberry) Liston.
She married Robert Clive Roach on May 22, 1945 at St. Francis Xavier College Church, St. Louis, Mo, he preceded her in death on November 2, 1987. Mrs. Roach is survived by her daughter, Andrea Dempsey of Carlyle; two sons, Gregory Roach of Kirkwood, Mo, Dennis Roach of St. Louis, Mo., a sister, Denise Spelbrink of St. Charles, Mo.
Nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Monica was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother: Norbert Liston, grandson Sean Dempsey and son-in-law Sam Dempsey. Monica was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Carlyle, a lifetime member of the French Society of St. Louis and a member of the Etc Senior Theater of St. Louis. She attended Fontbonne University where she studied to become a teacher. She taught in the St. Louis City School System until she retired.
