On January 5th, 2019, surrounded by close family, Pastor Mondell Beck, Jr. entered into eternal peace after being a faithful servant in the church as a deacon and pastor the majority of his adulthood. He was a loving husband, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, friend, and “the best grandfather and father his children could ever have”, loving and caring; forever cherished.
Mondell was born on August 28, 1948 to Mondee Beck and Juanita James. He was the oldest of seven children. Mondell was united in holy matrimony to Deborah Ann Reeden in 1975; together they raised their three children and two adopted children.
Mondell Beck was a deacon at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church for several years where he was also baptized. Mondell later became the pastor of Chapel Springs Baptist Church in Beckville, Texas. Mondell attended Carthage school system and Turner High School. He attended Job Corp in his early adulthood where he learned to be a welder by trade for more than 40 years. He was a welder for Fluor Daniel for majority of his career.
Pastor Beck left an undeniable mark upon the hearts of many especially thru his love of God. He will be remembered for his preaching and commitment to teaching the word of God and His son Jesus Christ. Mondell had a passion for fishing and travel. He was a dedicated hard worker.
