Aldene was born in Flory, Missouri on May 20, 1924. She spent the first 24 years of her life in Missouri. On January 21, 1948 she married her love, Clifford Hurst, in Juno, Alaska. They spent several years in Alaska where their two daughters Pam Bahle and Patricia Falcon were born. Following their years in Alaska they lived in Oklahoma, Missouri, Illinois, and Nebraska. Upon retirement they moved to California where they purchased a sailboat. They sailed the Pacific Ocean to Hawaii then south to the Panama Canal landing in Pensacola, Florida where they lived for several years before moving to Red Feather Lakes, Colorado. Aldene and her husband Cliff built their dream cabin in the mountains. After the death of her husband, Aldene lived in Red Feather Lakes for several years before moving to Pella, lowa to be closer to family.
Aldene’s children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family were the center of her life. Her pets, Laddie, Toby, and Daisy brought her much joy. She was an avid reader and puzzle solver. Aldene lived a beautiful and exciting life. She was a world traveler, and had many adventures on oceans and land. Her fondest memories are of sailing the big blue sea and hiking through the Rocky Mountains.
Aldene was preceded in death by her parents, Bryan and Elsie Harris; her husband, Cliff Hurst; and her brother Dalvin Harris.
