Molly Eaman Sharp
85, of Centennial, passed away unexpectedly on June 29, 2010 from complications related to Diverticulitis.  She was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada in 1925 but lived in London Ontario until marrying American Howard Sharp in 1948.  They settled in Littleton 50 years ago with their 4 children, Don, Ken, Janet and Walter who along with her husband and her son-in-law Harry Pritchett were present when she died peacefully in their home of 47 years.

Molly was born 2 ½ months premature and weighed 4 pounds.  Her given name was Mary Elizabeth Shaver Eaman, but she was called Molly from the day she was born.  The doctors warned her parents she likely wouldn’t live.  She was kept in a shoe box lined with cotton, on an open oven door, with the heat set low.  She not only lived, but survived polio and had to learn to walk again when she was 3.  Then when she was in 1st grade, she endured Red Measles, German Measles, Whopping Cough and Chickenpox which kept her in bed for nearly a year.  In the 4th grade, she was in bed all year with Bronchitis.  Then she enjoyed 75 years of good health.

Molly was a volunteer for the Littleton Public Schools Senior Citizen Tax Rebate Program for 17 years.  She was first assigned to Options where she rocked the babies of school girls.  She spent several years helping out at The Village, and since 2006 assisted Highland Elementary School in the computer lab and library.  Molly loved working around children and other senior volunteers helping the schools with the many tasks there just aren’t enough hours to complete.  Her volunteer positions were the most satisfying “work” of her long history.
