Larry F. “Moe” Putz, the son of Lewis and Margaret Dittmer Putz was born on July 12, 1943 in Lacona, Iowa. He served in the Iowa National Guard.

On April 25, 1971, Moe was united in marriage with Carolyn J. Barr in Rosemount, Iowa. They were blessed with three children, Shelly, Dan and Calista. Moe was currently working for Theisen’s Home-Farm-Auto in Newton. He had worked for 43 years, when he retired from the Maytag Company in Newton. He was a member of the Central Iowa Outdoors Without Boundaries. Moe liked to do handyman work and tinker around out in his shed. He liked going to Newton Cardinal football games, the University of Iowa Hawkeye football games and the Iowa Barnstormer games. He was also a St. Louis Cardinals Fan. Moe was a devoted and caring husband, dad, brother and friend.

Moe died on Thursday, December 28, 2017, at the Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. He was 74. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother, Theresa; six brothers, Keith, Martin, Jerome, Delbert, James and Bernard.

Those left to honor Moe’s memory are his wife, Carolyn of Newton; children, Shelly Putz of Newton, Dan (Kelly) Putz of Newton and Calista Putz of Newton; his siblings, Marvin (Sue) Putz of Monroe, Rose Hansen of Newton, Carol (Dave) Wallace of Lacona and Mae Chambers of Davenport; and sister-in-law, Sonya Putz of Newton.
