Mitchell P. Bielenda, 92, of New Britain, formerly of South Windsor and Wethersfield, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at Walnut Hill Health Center. He was the beloved husband of the late Ann (Sienkiewicz) Bielenda. Born in Poland, son of the late Vicenti and Karolina (Draus) Bielenda, he spent his childhood and young adulthood in Poland. During WWII, he was put into slave labor by the German government. After the war, he was given a choice of what country he would immigrate to. Mitchell was a former parishioner of Ss. Cyril and Methodius Church, Hartford and he was an avid gardener, sports fan and especially enjoyed the Boston Red Sox and soccer. He leaves his two sons: Mitchell A. Bielenda of South Windsor and his significant other, Cathy King of Manchester, and Thomas P. Bielenda and his wife, Jane of West Roxbury, MA; and his grandson Ryan. He also leaves his stepdaughter, Carol Johnston and her husband, Robert of Enfield; his brother, Joseph Bielenda and his wife, Norma of Wethersfield and many nieces and nephews in Poland and in the U.S. including Steven, Peter and Carol. Mitchell was predeceased by a stepson, Richard J. Rayner.
