Mitch Kent Wilson of Grimes, IA, 57, passed away on Wednesday, June 16, 2021.
Mitch was born July 11, 1963, in Clarion, Iowa, to Glen and Janice (Nielsen) Wilson. He graduated from Iowa State University and worked in IT and sales.
Mitch loved all things Iowa State. He was ready at any moment for a great debate between the Cyclones and Hawkeyes. Mitch also had a great love for animals, he was quite the animal whisperer. We take great comfort knowing he is surrounded by all his cats and dogs he had throughout the years. Mitch loved golf, right now in the great heavens he is swinging his air golf club listening to either the Rolling Stones or The Beatles. Mitch really thought he was the next Mick Jagger. He never quite had Mick’s long locks, but Mitch did have a great head of hair, which he was rightfully quite proud of, although it changed many colors throughout the years.
Mitch was truly one of a kind. When you were with Mitch you better be prepared for an evening of laughter. Mitch was always the life of the party. He could rock a medical white coat at a Halloween party all the while having strangers believe he was a real doctor due to his charismatic charm. Anyone who knew Mitch was blessed to have him in their life. Mitch was put on this earth to make everyone who knew him a better person. Now he is spreading his love in the great beyond.
Mitch is survived by his wife, Kathy Wilson, and her son, Tanner Bowman; two brothers, Mark (Kristine) Wilson of Frisco, TX and his daughters, Jessica San Miguel, Jamie Benyola, and Monte Wilson of Bangkok, Thailand; stepdaughter, Heather (Chuck) Berry of Ankeny, IA and grandsons, Devon and Deakon. Mitch is also survived by a group of lifelong friends, Brian, Chad, Hud and Dan, to list a few. He was preceded in death by his parents and Amberly Bossom.
