Miriam Rae Brown-Landes, 80, Woodhull, passed away at 11:50 a.m. Friday, December 1, 2017 at Seminary Manor, Galesburg.

Miriam Rae Dahlstrom was born on April 3, 1937 in rural Woodhull, the daughter of C. Stewart and Ida M. (Larson) Dahlstrom. She graduated from AlWood High School in 1954. She married George Carroll Brown on March 29, 1956 in Woodhull. George passed away on December 5, 1998. Miriam later married Freddie W. Landes on February 8, 2002 at the Knox County Court House. Freddie passed away on October 16, 2004.Miriam’s survivors include her sons, James (Carol) Brown of Galesburg and Charles (Denise) Brown of Cambridge; her grandchildren, Emily (Luke) Raymond, Josh Moore, Sara (Chad) Humphrey, Michael (Jessica) Beam, Brandon (Amanda) Beam, and ten great grandchildren. Miriam is also survived by a sister, Gwen Strand and a sister-in-law, Janet Dahlstrom; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Along with her husbands and parents, Miriam was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Dahlstrom earlier this year.Miriam was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church in Woodhull.

She enjoyed watching and feeding birds and fishing. She also enjoyed visiting with friends over coffee and meals and spending time with her family. Miriam attended business school and was employed at Service Rubber Inc. of Rock Island, the United States Postal Service, Milan, the Galesburg Volkswagen dealership, and finally the Woodhull Cooperative Grain Elevator, from which she retired after many years of service.
