Miriam Jeanette (Randle) Gamster 88 years of age of Kuttawa Kentucky died suddenly at her residence on Wednesday May 6, 2009. Jeanette was born in Paxton, IL on February 16, 1921 to the late Harry and Lillian nee Kemp. In her younger years , she enjoyed fishing, cam ping, trapping and sharing the outdoors with her father, Harry Randle of Rensselaer.

She also had a passion for raising animals, both domestic and wild. Miriam graduated from Rensselaer High school Rensselaer, IN class of 1939. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Eastern Star and an honorary Kentucky colonel. During WWII, Jeanette served her country as a member of the civil service. On September 1, 1950 in Rensselaer, IN Jeanette married Robert “Bob” L. Gamster. Together they shared forty-six years of marriage until his death on June 13, 1996. Bob was with the Standard Oil Company and consequently they were forced to relocate a number of times, Living in such places as; Jackson, MI, Napoleon, MI, Wheaton, IL, where Jeanette worked as accountant for the school board, Paducah, KY and New Orleans, LA. After Bob’s retirement, the couple moved to Kentucky Lake.

During the early part of their marriage, Bob and Jeanette enjoyed fishing and camping trips to Wisconsin and Canada. During the later years, they loved European travel. But, no matter where they were relocated or traveled, Rensselaer was always considered “Home.” Jeanette is survived by: Her son, Scott (Suzanne) Gamster of Marion, IL. one grandson, Grant (Lindsay) Gamster of Tunnel Hill, IL. three great grandsons, Gage and Brody Gamster and Anthony Nemecek, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jeanette is preceded in death by; By her Parents Harry and Lillian Randle, her loving husband Bob Gamster, one sister Eunice Randle one brother, Howard Randle, One sister in law Suzie Randle and one nephew Cary Randle. During her later years , Jeanette loved being with her family, reading, and watching sporting events on TV, particularly golf. Up until the time of her death, Jeanette still possessed that zest, enthusiasm, and gleam in her eye that made her uniquely Jeanette. She will be sorely missed by all that knew and loved her.
