Minnie Pearl Burton Roberts

Minnie Pearl Burton Roberts passed away on November 9, 2016 in Los Angeles, California. She was born in Buckner, Arkansas on December 24, 1946 to Chest Burton Jr. and Lenora Dockey Burton. She moved to Ogden, Utah in 1947 along with the rest of her family. Minnie attended Ogden City Schools and graduated from Ogden High School in the 1965 graduating class.

She married Billy Roberts and was later divorced. She later moved to Los Angeles, California where she resided until the time of her death.

Minnie later became a Minister in 1987. She served on various counsels in the Los Angeles area, including volunteer work with the homeless and low income families.

She loved Los Angeles and her home in Utah. She loved and wrote poetry and wrote her high school class graduating theme. She also loved art, reading, and traveling. She was an avid shopper.

Minnie is survived by her daughter, Salimah Burton of Los Angeles, CA, her oldest sister, Vernie (Conrad) Steverson of Layton, UT, Nayyiah Madyun of Charlotte, NC, Sharon (Waldo) Danzy of Ogden, UT, Kenneth (LaDonna) Burton of Nashville, TN, and Chest Burton III of Ogden, UT, and also a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, Chest and Lenora Burton; her sisters; Lorraine Burton Cooper, Jennette Burton, and Jannet Burton, and her brother-in-law, Pender Madyun.
