Our sweet Mom and Nona, Minnie Marie Nichols left us on July 5, 2021, at the age of 101.  She was born on June 7, 1920, to Italian parents Tony and Josephine (Salvi) Andy in Canon City on the farm that she lived almost her entire life.  She married Olen Nichols on January 15, 1944, in Richmond, California.  Minnie and Olen worked side by side on the dairy farm and garden for almost 68 years until Olen’s passing in 2011.  Her family was always #1 and you never left her house without having had something to eat and the coffee was always ready.  Her pasta was like no other and always made with love.  When she was making pizzelle’s, they could be smelled for miles.  She loved her garden and there were always plenty of vegetables to share with everyone.  Minnie knew hard work and worked hard all her life but never complained.  She loved her family and worried about everyone.

She is survived by her daughter Karolyn (Bill) Barr of Fort Collins, son Buddy (Sky Householder) Nichols of Maui, Hawaii, granddaughters Ali (Corbett) Kesler of Denver and Taylor Nichols of Windsor and mother of her grandchildren Laurie Nichols, of Fort Collins. She is also survived by many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, and brother-in-law Marie (Joe) Michelli, several aunts and uncles, nephews and nieces, and cousins.

Many thanks to her special friend Kathy Marrs, to all her friends at the Royal Gorge Manor where she made her home for the past 9 ½ years, to her caregivers at Hildebrand Home Care, Cora’s girls, especially Cora, Jessica, and Grace and to Fremont County Regional Hospice.
