Mrs. Gholston was born to the late Earnest and Hettie Fuller Young on February 3, 1930 in Lawrence County, Alabama. She departed this life on Sunday, December 23, 2012 at her daughter’s residence in Trinity. She attended old Moulton School. She accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and joined Freeman Tabernacle Baptist Church. She later joined Town Creek No. 1 Baptist Church where she served faithfully as a Mother.
Mrs. Gholston was employed for many years as an environmental supervisor for Lawrence County Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband, WC Gholston, her parents; two children, Charles and Syble Young; three sisters, Hazette Young, Florence Young and Emma Sue Echols and two brothers, Lymos Bobby Young and Marshall T. Young.
She leaves to cherish her memory; children; Doris (Kieth) Taylor of Aliquippia, PA, James Young of Pittsburg, PA, Clyde (Loretta) Young of Moulton, Mildred Gholston of Trinity, Yvonne Gholston of Birmingham and Sammy (Tracey) Gholston of Madison; 14 grandchildren, five of which she raised, Eric, Lee and Regina Young, Stephanie Johnson and Ronda Steward; 7 great-grandchildren; one brother, Earnest (Carlean) Young of Moulton; three sisters, Annie Gossett of Pacolet, SC, Elizabeth Jones of Moulton and Samella Young of Aliquippa, PA; two sisters-in-law, Patsy Miland of Decatur and Nadine Young of Moulton and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
