Mimi M. Owens, 61 of South Greensburg passed away, Monday, January 7, 2019 in Woodhaven Care Center.
She was born October 12, 1957 in Mars to Barbara Charles and the late Albert J. Ferrari.
She worked as a Job Developer at Westmoreland County Community College. Mimi had previously taught English as an adjunct professor. She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with highest honors, receiving a Bachelors in English.
Mimi was a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church. She was also a volunteer and former board member of the Ligonier Valley Railroad Museum. When her children were young she enjoyed volunteering with the cub scouts, and was very involved in the baseball and football programs.
In addition to her to mother, she is survived by her husband of 38 years, Chuck Owens; children, Nathan Owens Sr., Jadyn Ulrich (Mike), and Kyle Owens (Sarah); her three grandchildren, who she loved being a Nona to, Nathan Jr., Kaitlyn, and Amelia Owens; brothers, Albert Ferrari Jr. and Ron Ferrari; and sister, Barbara Meliso (Ralph); also, numerous nieces and nephews.
