Milton Wescott Lowry, Jr.,84, “Bob” to all that knew him, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on Friday, March 13, 2020. Born July 22, 1935, in Atlantic City, son of the late Elizabeth Jester, Bob spent his childhood in his favorite place on Earth, Chincoteague Island, VA. It is there where he learned everything from riding wild ponies to shucking oysters from his idol, his Pop. No matter where life took him, Chincoteague was always his “home”.
On December 26, 1935, he married the love of his life, Carol Ann Breen, as a military family, they lived on bases all over the country, where they raised five children. Bob and Carol spent a wonderful sixty years together.
Bob proudly served in the United States Air Force for twenty years. He served in the Korean War and did three tours in the Vietnam War. He retired from the military as a Tech Sergeant. Their family then settled in Connecticut and Bob worked for Pratt & Whitney.
Bob is survived by his children, Michael Lowry (Joanne), Karen Rivard (David), Susan Lowry, and Bryan Lowry; his daughter-in-law, Rosalinda Lowry; his grandchildren, Leanne Cantres (Alexis), Jamie Lowry (Nelson), Sean Lowry (Yolanda), Kassie Boucher (Justin), Diana Lowry, Ashley Lowry, Kendall Lowry; several great grandchildren, and a great-great granddaughter, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Along with his mother, Bob was predeceased his wife, Carol Lowry and his son, Daniel.
The family would like to say a special thank you to the extraordinary staff at the Rocky Hill Veterans Home for the comfort and care they provided.
