Milton Maynard Walker of Kannapolis North Carolina formerly of Orange County New York, went home to be with the Lord on February 21, 2022. He was 77. Born in Caguas, Puerto Rico on July 1, 1944 son of the late Angel L. Rivera and Eneida S. Rivera. Milton proudly served in The United States Air Force as an Honor Guard from 1962-1966.
Survivors include his beloved daughters Carrie Rogers, husband Fernando of Kannapolis, NC. Lauren McConnell and fiancé Jason Matlock of Rochester, NY. Sisters Nelsie Walker of Bradenton, Fl., Elba Rivera of New York., Lyda O’Shea, husband Daniel of Bloomingburg N.Y., Miriam Connolly, husband Daniel of Apopka, Fl. Brothers Jose’ Rivera of San Juan PR. Victor Rivera of New York, NY. Grandchildren Sean Greco wife Veronika, Amir Ford, Spencer Utsey, Tyreese Perea, Jayden Matlock, Jordan Matlock, Jason Matlock Jr. Great grandchildren Jayce Greco, Freya Greco, Camden Ford. He is also survived by several nephews, nieces, and host of additional loved great grand children. He will be missed dearly by his devoted friend Frank Cosentino.
Milton was a devoted and active member of Refuge Church in Concord, NC. and formerly Family Church in Middletown, NY before relocating to North Carolina. He is best remembered for his faith and devotion to Christ Our Lord. Milton was loved within his fellowship and service with Refuge Riders of China Grove, NC. He was one of the founding members of the Harvest Motorcycle Ministry of Middletown, NY. Milton will be be remembered for his generous unconditional love and understanding to his family, friends, and loved ones. He had a wonderful sense of humor and an unending love for motorcycle riding and devotion serving as an usher at his church while also ministering to his community.
Milton’s family remembers him best for his love of good food, cars, Latin music and his talent at being a great dancer. In his earlier days he was a popular and well loved Hair Salon owner and hairdresser. He was a man of great character and integrity while mentoring to his younger siblings.
His sister Nelsie remembers him as a “Johnny Appleseed” of Faith, sharing and spreading the Lord’s message of Hope and Redemption, as he and fellow riders drove their motorcycles together from town to town.
