Milton H. Scheps
Milt “Doc” Scheps of Cave Creek, Arizona passed away on February 22, 2020. Milt was born in Newark, N.J., on June, 20, 1934. He attended Southside High School, where he played on their basketball team and graduated in 1951. He graduated from Rutgers University and earned his pharmacy degree in 1955, then served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1961.
Milt had a highly successful business career in the pharmaceutical industry, where he helped develop Skin-Prep, Betadine and other products for Sterling Drug and Pfizer. At Smith and Nephew, he helped develop I.V. Prep and holds a patent.
After retiring from business, Milt’s passion for education led him to teaching history classes at Tampa Community College, where he strived to impart the importance of education and lifelong learning to his students. In October 2005, Milt and his wife Natalie moved to Arizona to be closer to their grandson, Thomas. Nothing was more important to Milt than family and friends. He loved going to sporting events, Broadway shows with his wife, and traveling with his family. Milt was an avid sports fan, and in particular he loved going to New York Rangers games with his son and his brother when he worked in New York City.
Milt is survived by his wife of 60 years, Natalie, his son Steve, daughter-in-law Kristina, and their 15-year-old son Thomas. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Thomas. Milt was kind, funny, and always generous. He is loved and will be missed by all.
