Milton George Henry Lovekamp, 84, of Chapin, died Sunday, June 9, 2013, at Heritage Health in Mt. Sterling.
He was born July 9, 1928, in Arenzville, the son of John Raymond and Alma Marie Lovekamp. He married Dorothy Ellen Thomas on Aug. 29, 1948, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Arenzville and she preceded him in death on May 4, 2012.
He is survived by three sons, David Ray (companion, Toni) Lovekamp of Jacksonville, Donald Eugene (wife, Nancy) Lovekamp of Granite Shoals, TX, and Jay Edward (wife, Lori) Lovekamp of Meredosia; a niece who was raised in the family home, Debbie (husband, Chuck) Carpenter of Virginia; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Imogene Boehs and Vera Lavern Meier (companion, Ron Woosley), both of Bluffs; and special friend and neighbor, Dylan Fortney of Chapin. He was preceded in death by one son, Arla Gene Lovekamp.
Mr. Lovekamp retired from the Oscar Mayer Co. in Beardstown in 1987. He was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Jacksonville. Milton enjoyed fishing, camping, and collecting antique John Deere Model Tractors.
