Milo Dean Johnson, August 7, 1935 – December 29, 2013.
Milo Dean Johnson, age 78 of Belton. He passed away Sunday, December 29, 2013 in a Temple hospital. He was born on August 7, 1935 in Forrest City, Iowa to Holger Johnson and Henrietta (Kiegan) Johnson. Milo served seven years in the Army National Guard and married his loving wife, Barbara (Richter) Johnson on November 9, 1979 in Faribault, Minnesota.
After moving to Belton in 1983 from Faribault, Mr. Johnson was a member of the First English Lutheran Church in Faribault and a very active member of the First Lutheran Church of Temple where he transferred his membership to after moving to Belton. He was also a member of the Texas Early Day Tractor and Engine Association and loved to collect and restore antique tractors. Milo was a man of many trades and talents, such as driving horses. He ran a horse drawn carriage service in Salado and Christmas carriage rides in Canyon Creek.
He worked at and was the owner of Johnson’s New and Used Farm Equipment Sales and was active in the Belton Senior Center. He preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include, his wife, Barbara Johnson; two sons, Randy and Jerry Johnson, both of Faribault, Minnesota; one step-son, Daniel Lundell of Mesa, Arizona; one daughter, Christine Lunde and husband Al of Detroit Lakes, Michigan; one step daughter, Nancy Edland and husband Mitch of Carrolton; three brothers, Dennis Johnson and wife Lucy, Michael Johnson and wife Kathy, and Richard Johnson, all of Faribault, Minnesota; and six grandchildren, Eric Lunde and Ellie Lunde of Detroit Lakes, Michigan, Alexis Edland and Matthew Eldand of Carrolton, Texas, Adrianna and Jonathan Johnson of Minnesota.
