Milly Goode, age 64, went home to heaven to be with her Lord and Savior on February 7, 2018 after a long 10 year battle with breast cancer. Her husband, children and grandchildren were at her side. Mildred Faye Lore was born in Waverly, Iowa to Floyd and Marjorie Lore. She had one older brother: Hugh, one older sister: Ellen Merick, and two younger sisters: Frances Ford, and Marian Schilling.
She received her AA from Bartlesville Wesleyan College in OK.
While working at Twin Wells Indian School in Flagstaff AZ, she met Gary Goode. As she says, “They were friends a month, dated a month, and engaged 45 days.” She married the man of her dreams on July 16, 1975 and moved to his home state of Oregon. After several years, they started a car repair business. Quite a few years later, they moved to Nampa ID, where they started First Choice Collision Repair. Milly was the receptionist and bookkeeper for many years until expansion meant hiring more people to help with the work. She became “famous” when her photo of her sister and her aunt was published in “Parade Magazine” in 1999. She enjoyed being a member of Rotary. Milly and Gary had a strong work ethic and kept busy remodeling several of their homes.
Milly devoted her life to raising two sons and instilling spiritual values in them. She thoroughly enjoyed all her grandchildren: Todd’s daughters: Emily, Ashley, and Lily and Jeff’s boys: Levi, Jack, Trent, Tanner, and Ashton. She is survived by her husband, Gary and their two sons: Todd (Janna) of Nampa ID, and Jeff (Lisa) of Canby OR and their eight grandchildren as well as her brother, three sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and numerous aunts and uncles.
