Millicent Lucille Wilson, age 97, a resident of Clarksburg Nursing and Rehab Center, formerly of the Haymond Community, Grafton, passed away Friday, November 25, 2011, at United Hospital Center, Clarksburg. She was born in Grafton May 29, 1914, a daughter of the late Alexander B. Poe and Florence May (Parsons) Poe. Her husband, Charles Edmund Wilson preceded her in death in 1980.
Mrs. Wilson was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was a registered nurse and graduated from Cook Hospital School of Nursing in Fairmont. She retired as supervisor of the infirmary of the WV Industrial School for Boys, Pruntytown, but had also practiced nursing at Grafton City Hospital, Weston State Hospital, and also worked as a private duty nurse. She was a member of the Blueville Church of Christ, and enjoyed gardening and playing bingo. She was also a member of the Extension Homemakers Club.
Surviving are: four nieces, Rev. Etheldean Yanero and husband Frank, of Clarksburg, Ola Mae Nikituk and husband Jake, of Pittsburg, PA, Suzanne (Wilson) Hadley, of Washington, Barbara (Wilson) Bryant, of Atlanta, GA, and Rebecca Ellen Wilson, of Acworth, GA; four nephews, Edgar A. Poe, Jr. and wife Molly (Underwood), of Charleston, WV, Richard Poe and wife Helen, of Maryland, William Poe and wife Margie, of Florida, and Dr. James C. Wilson, of Logan, UT; Diana Poe, (the wife of deceased nephew Larry Poe), of Bridgeport, WV, and special friends, the Rev. Ron Ford family and Sylvia Fuller.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by: six brothers, Joseph Milton Poe, Alexander B. Poe, Jr., Donald Carolton Poe, and Edgar Allan Poe, and two brothers in infancy; one niece, Annabell “Cookie” Clarke; two nephews, James “Jimmy” Poe, and Larry C. Poe.
