Mildred Lois (Sally) Hudson of Waldron, Arkansas, was born in Marion, Ohio on October 9, 1941 to Robert and Mildred (Graybill) Baker. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 27, 2015 at the age of 73.
After working for many years at Quaker Oats in Marion, Ohio, Sally and her family moved to Waldron, Arkansas in 1977. She retired from Tyson Foods in 2002 after being recognized as a Tyson Hero for her dedication of service to her co-workers and community. Sally was known best by all who knew her as a woman of faith whose strength and perseverance through multiple serious health issues for 14 years set an example for all to follow. She loved to cook, make candies to give away at Christmas, and was an avid reader. In addition, for many years, she was active in the Scott County Relay for Life efforts to raise money for the American Cancer Society.
More than anything, Sally loved her family and friends. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 55 years, Curtis Hudson, 3 daughters: Angie Rhyne and husband Jim of Littleton, Colorado; Pam Houston and husband Danny of Waldron, Arkansas; Tammy Dedmon and husband Todd of Waldron, Arkansas; 1 son, Sam Hudson and wife Chastity of Waldron, Arkansas; her mother-in-law Marie Hudson, a sister Katie Brigance and a brother Herb Baker. Granny Sally will be greatly missed by her 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Also remembering her will be numerous nieces, nephews, and friends whose lives she impacted, especially her best friend from childhood Bert Stoneburner.
Sally is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Mildred Baker, and 4 siblings: Butch Baker, Bud Baker, Shirley Caldwell, and Betty Banks.
Sally’s life celebration will be Friday, March 6, 2015 at 10:00 a.m.
