Mildred “Millie” (Kincheski) Billard-Stevenson, 95, of Peru, passed away November 18, 2014 at her home.
Mrs. Stevenson was born September 27, 1919 in Peru to Frank and Hazel (Hockings) Kincheski. She married George “Max” Billard on August 31, 1940 in Portage, WI. He passed away October 1, 1981. She married Col. John Stevenson on November 10, 1990 in the First Congregational Church in Peru. He passed away February 5, 2005. Mrs. Stevenson worked at Westclox and at Anderson Microfilming. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Peru where she served on various boards, The Model “A” Club, Johnnie Kaye Birthday Club and a former member of Platter Club. She was very active in her children’s activities throughout the years. She loved gardening, music, dancing, reading, traveling, and sewing. Throughout the years Millie traveled to Australia, New Zealand, Alaska, Russia, Canada, U.K., U.S. and cruises to South America.
She is survived by one daughter, Georgia (Thomas) Mackiewicz of Broomfield, CO; two sons, William T. (Janice) Billard, of Okemos, Michigan and Michael E. (Lori) Billard of Peru; a step-daughter, Sarah Jane “Sally” (James) Lightburn of Paris France; 6 Grandchildren, Michele Nabhan, Michael Mackiewicz, Amy Mackiewicz, Rachelle Garyet, Kimberly Enslin, and Bethany Weiers; 9 Great-grandchildren; one sister, Carol (Bill) Gerber of LaSalle; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Max Billard and Col. John Stevenson.; two sisters, Phyllis Hageman and Twila Mazzorana; and 5 nephews, Phil Hageman, Kent Hageman, Tim Mazzorana, Ralph Murphy and Randy Murphy.
