Mildred Fields Sherard, 82, of Pinson, AL passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2014 after an extended illness. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-eight years, Thomas Harold Sherard, her parents, George and Nellie Fields, her sister, Frances Ward and brother, Alton Fields. She is survived by her children, Rusty Sherard of Trussville, Pam Sherard of Pinson, and Rodney Sherard (Pat) of Hoover; granddaughter, Gabrielle Sherard Worley (Daniel) of Nashville, TN; nieces and nephews. She was a native of Alcorn County, Mississippi, but lived most of her life in the Birmingham area and was a member of Huffman Baptist Church. Mildred was a devoted and loving mother and wife. Her life’s work was to create a refuge of love and compassion for her family and anyone in need. She was happiest when serving others. Her sweet smile and gentle demeanor will be missed by all who knew her.
