Mildred Ruth Daley, 88, of 2310 Waterbend Drive, died at 7:16 p.m. Monday (Sept. 25, 2006) at the home of her son, Richard B. Daley, of the Waterbend address.
She was born March 9, 1918, in Crested Butte, Colo., to Beldon H. and Elizabeth (Maxson) Bush. On March 9, 1934, in Grand Junction, Colo., she married Mathew L. Daley. He died in January 2001 in Elkhart.
She is survived by three sons, Douglas G. (Gwenda) Daley and Scott W. (Keri) Daley, both of Las Vegas, and Richard B. (Linda) Daley of Elkhart; six daughters, Mildred Cowley of Highland, Utah, Sharon Marrier of Winthrop, Wash., Marcella (David) Musgrave of Springfield, Mo., Gale (Phil) Cronkhite-Messier of Okatie, S.C., Margaret (Douglas) Holland of Phoenix, Ariz., and Ruthann (Michael) Laghezza of Knoxville, Tenn.; 59 grandchildren; many great and great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Joyce Terry of Denver, Colo., and Betty Jo Elliott of Portland, Ore.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Lois K. Daley, who died in infancy, and Virginia Shaw; and two brothers, William “Bill” and Karl Bush.
Mrs. Daley spent most of her life as a homemaker, raising a large family through often difficult times. She was a practical woman who enjoyed sewing and gardening. She also enjoyed ballroom dancing and during her younger years, was an instructor affiliated with Arthur Murray Dance Studios while still living out west. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
