Mildred Jenkins Noel “Midge” (Age 95)
Midge Noel passed away peacefully at home on June 11, 2021, in New Carlisle, Indiana, surrounded by her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Robert (Bob) Noel, three sisters and one brother. She is survived by three sons: Tyler (wife Pam) of Niles, Michigan; Stan (wife Barbara) of Gig Harbor, Washington; and James (wife Gabriella) of Diamond Bar, California. Also surviving her are five grandchildren, Ray, Lisa, Sarah, Brittany and Gabriel, and three great grandchildren, Winter, Cooper and Robert.
Midge was born in Bessemer, Alabama on December 14, 1925, to Carl Berney Jenkins and Jewel Milliner Busby. She married Robert Noel in 1946 in North Carolina and shortly thereafter moved to Indiana where they raised their family.
While she enjoyed an active social life over the years, including entertaining at home, substitute teaching, playing golf, card games and bridge (achieving Life Master along with her husband), attending her church, oil painting and crafts, her greatest joy in life was raising her three sons and tending to her family. She was a giving, gracious host to all who entered her home and “famous” for her potato salad and cherry pie. She had a wonderful, lively sense of humor and always enjoyed sharing a good laugh.
Mom was the most loving, caring mother anyone could have. She dedicated her life to raising her three boys. She had a joyful spirit and found the good in everything. She was kind, forgiving and will be dearly missed.
