PEORIA – Mildred M. Berry (Mil), age 92, died at Proctor Place Shepherds Way, in Peoria on May 12, 2018.
Mildred was born Mildred Marie Kirkpatrick on April 7, 1926 to Hugh Kirkpatrick and Hattie A. Raab Kirkpatrick of Bloomington, Illinois. She graduated from Bloomington High School and Illinois State University.
Mildred taught Home Economics at Hamilton High School and Washington Community High School prior to marrying Corwin J Berry on June 13, 1953. He preceded her in death. She is survived by one sister Eula May Patzer of Fairhope, AL, four children Jim (Gloria) Berry (three grandchildren) of Peoria, Jack (Jill) Berry of St Charles, IL (four grandchildren and three great grandchildren), Sue (Mike) Luciani of Pensacola Beach, FL (two grandchildren and two great grandchildren), and Rick (Cheryl) Berry (two grandchildren) of Glasford.
Mildred taught Home Economics, at various other times, through her career for the State of Illinois, Bradley University, and Bergan High School. She also worked for the Scotti Bureau, served as a Peoria Election Judge, and volunteered at the Wildlife Prairie Park Gift Shop.
