Mildred “Jean” Evans Palmer, 80, passed away peacefully at home, Saturday September 18, 2010.  Aunt Jean was born at St. Lukes Hospital in Boise, ID, December 4, 1929 to John and Blanche Evans.   She was the last surviving child of Blanche who was named the “War Mother of the Year” for Idaho in 1943.  Aunt Jean had no children of her own but was loved by nephews and nieces too numerous to count.

She worked at many different professions in her long and colorful life including telephone operator during WWII, mining for gold in Nevada, and tending bar on the Alaska pipeline during the 1970’s. She began work at Hewlett Packard in 1978 and retired from there in 1991.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents; and her ten older brothers and sisters, John Evans Jr., Irene Kellogg, Kenneth Evans, Roy Evans, Keith Evans, Don Evans, Kate Nelson, Glenn Evans, Ruth Elliott, and Carl Evans.  She is survived by her many nephews and nieces.
