Anderson – Mildred J. Stephens Smith, 71, Anderson, died December 7, 2004 at Manor Care, Anderson after an extended illness.
She was born October 4, 1933 in Centreville, Illinois, and was an Anderson resident for most of her life. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of God. She was also a member of the Daleville Order of the Eastern Star #568. She was very involved and active in the arts and crafts including basket weaving and porcelain dolls.
She is survived by her son, Anthony & wife Christina Smith of Anderson; daughter, Karen Bryant & husband John Lawrence of Nashville, Indiana; three grandchildren, Heather McLeod of Bargersville, Myka Bryant of Nashville, and Christian Smith of Pendleton; great granddaughter, Zoey McLeod; sisters, Wilma Doris & husband Max Pinkerton, Betty & husband Hal Hensley and Pava & husband Wayne Dailey; brother, Charles Stephens. The family wishes to thank the staff at Manor Care and Heartland Hospice for all of their support and care.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hal & Lela Majors Stephens and siblings, Ralph Stephens, Elbert Stephens, Hal Stephens Jr., William Stephens and Oren Stephens.
