Mildred Harriet Dormish was the beloved daughter of John and Harriet Dormish, deceased, and cousin to Jeffrey J. Orr, Doylestown, OH. Millie skidded into eternity on Monday, February 22 after having a wild, fulfilled ride in her 79 years. Born in Huron Road Hospital, Cleveland, OH where her mother was an RN, Millie was reared in Snow Lake, OH and Barberton, OH at 8 months of age.

She leaves behind her soul mate and love of her life, Garland Pike; a cousin, Jeffrey J. Orr, Doylestown, OH; Garland’s two daughters, Barbara Britt, Linda Wilson and son, Michael Pike; sister Sharon Thomas and her “brother” Jack Thomas and Ruby Wallace, a longtime friend of forty-eight years. She also leaves special friends Evie Fitzmorris, Pamela Maddox, Vera Altman, Peggy Knoll and her beloved animals.

After graduating high school in 1954, she moved from Ohio to Denver, CO where she began her Air Force career at the age of eighteen. She briefly worked for Warner Brothers Film Studio and then was accepted as a typist by the U.S. Air Force. Millie assisted in the consolidation project of all Air Force personnel centers into one center in Denver. From there she went back to Ohio and worked for the Air Force Procurement Office in Akron where they purchased all tires and rubber products used by the Air Force.

She then received an assignment to Nouasseur Air Base, Morocco, Casablanca, Morocco as a clerk-typist. Shortly after arriving, she was promoted to Hospital Commander’s secretary. While in Africa, she traveled extensively throughout Africa, Portugal and Majorca. She dined at the King’s Palace and attended the Prince’s coming out party.
