Muncie – Mildred E. McCallister, 80, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2013, at Golden Living Center following an extended illness.
Mildred was born in Rogersville, Alabama on June 26, 1932, the daughter of Elmer and Alma (Rogers) Graham, and attended Lawrence County Tennessee Schools. She graduated from Amber’s Beauty College in 1958.
Mrs. McCallister owned Mildred’s Beauty Shop for over 35 years until her retirement in 1996.
Survivors include her husband of 29 years, Gene McCallister, Muncie; a son, Howard “Butch” McCallister, (wife-Mickie), Muncie; three daughters, Cindy Smith, (husband-Ron), Muncie, Mindy Swain, (husband-Mickey), Muncie, and Natalie Stapleton, (husband-Todd), Daytona Beach, Florida; two sisters, Marie Cieslak, (husband-Joe), Muncie, and Shirl Johnson, Muncie; three sisters-in-law, Wanda Kane, Spartanburg, South Carolina, Nancy Hoffman, (husband-Robert), and Joyce Painter, both of Muncie; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Tom Pratt; a son, Michael Pratt; two grandsons, Kyle and Daniel Pratt; and a brother, Nathan Graham.
