Mildred G. Hillman, 93, of Elkhart and formerly of Arizona, passed away Saturday evening, Nov. 8, in her residence after a brief illness. Mildred was born Aug. 9, 1921, in Galena, Ill., to the late Frederick and Sadie (Boldt) Geiger. She married Phillip J. Hillman on July 7, 1947. Phillip died Dec. 21, 1975, in Elkhart.

Surviving are her children, Linda (Bill) Davis of Temple Terrace, Fla., Terry (Kathy) Hillman and Jon (Cindi) Hillman, both of Elkhart, Susan (Bob Warhus) Hillman of Tamarindo, Costa Rica, and Fredrick J. Hillman, of Elkhart; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Mildred was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Heidi Hillman Mueller; three sisters; and a brother. Mildred worked for many years as an executive secretary for Miles Laboratories and Excel Corp., where she retired. While living in Elkhart, Mildred was a member of Lutheran Church of the Redeemer and sang in the choir.

She moved to Arizona in 1988 where she was active in the women’s guild at Spanish Trail Lutheran Church. Mildred relocated back to Elkhart in 2012 to be closer to her family. She enjoyed traveling, word smithing and was quite computer savvy, keeping up with her family and friends on Facebook and with emails and Skype.
