Mildred E. Wihebrink Petry, 83, Anderson, died September 2, 2003 at St. Johns Health System, Anderson Indiana after a brief illness. She was born June 25, 1920 in Martinsville, Indiana, and resided in Anderson, Indiana. She was a lifetime Anderson resident. She was a homemaker She was a graduate of St. Mary’s Catholic School. She was a lifetime member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Anderson. She was also a quiltmaker, avid reader and loved to travel. She was an active member of the 508 Parachute Infantry Regiment Association. She is survived by her Four Children: Sue Ann & husband Larry Howerton of Pendleton; Joseph Lee Petry Jr. and wife Marty of Pendleton; Douglas E. Petry and wife Rita of Farmland; and Richard E. Petry and wife Dianne of Indianapolis. Sister: Sue Ann Alford of Fortville. Brother: William Wihebrink and wife Toni of Anderson. Daughter-in-law: Joan K. Newton Petry of Biloxi, Mississippi. Lifelong friend – Gloria Lamper. 18 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded by her Husband: Joseph Lee Petry, Sr. whom she married June 1, 1946. Son: Michael Petry. Parents: Joseph and Amanda Fluke Wihebrink. Brother: Joseph Thomas Wihebrink. Brother: Walter ”Babe” Wihebrink. Great Grandson: Jeffrey Petry.
