Mildred B. Hoffmaster, 95, of Linthicum, formerly of Charlestown, WV, passed away on January 17, 2018. She was born in Charlestown to the late Clarence and Mary Barton. During World War II, she was a secretarial contractor typing up war documents for the government. She was an active member of Linthicum Heights United Methodist Church and the Women’s Auxiliary. In her earlier years, Mildred was a den mother in scouting and then in her later years, she ran the gift shop at Benson Hammond House. She participated in many church activities and fundraisers, enjoyed sewing and cooking. She was known as the “Holiday Cooking Specialist”. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Forrest G. Hoffmaster.
Mildred is survived by her sons, Alan B. Hoffmaster and his wife, Susan, Paul W. Hoffmaster and his wife, Cindy; four grandchildren, Joshua, Timothy, Chrissy and Charlie; and three great-granddaughters, Merissa, Abigail and Haley.
