Mrs. Mildred B. Carpenter, age 88, of Valley, Al passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, AL.
Mrs. Carpenter is survived by her children, James E. “Eddie” (Pam) Kelley of Valley; Mike (Melinda) Carpenter of Lanett; grandchildren, Chastity K. Morgan of Auburn; David A. (Lacie) Kelley of Opelika; Jeff Carpenter of Jackson, AL; Leah Carpenter & Amy (Sherrad) Hayes both of Birmingham; great-grandchildren, Blake Morgan, Ryder Kelley, Maylie Kelley, Will Hayes; sisters, Johnnie Price of Sylacauga; Barbara Ann (James) Weldon of Lanett; Shirley Thomaston of Monticello, GA; and Pam (James) Meadows of Lanett. She was preceded in death by her husband, Newman F. Carpenter, Jr.; her son, David B. Kelley; her brothers, Perry Brown & Mike Brown; and her sisters, Gussie Lumpkin & Luna Dell Tucker.
