Mildred Ann Williams, age 95, passed away on January 4, 2010, at University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. Mildred had been living in Lubbock, Texas, for the past few years but had previously lived in Hobbs, New Mexico, since moving there in 1943. Mildred was born on November 6, 1914, in Osage, Oklahoma. Her parents were Roy and Grace Neyman. Mildred graduated high school in Shawnee, Oklahoma, and continued her education at East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma. She was married to John Earl Williams, Jr. on January 2, 1941, in Chandler, Oklahoma. Mildred and Earl moved to Hobbs in 1943 with their newborn son, LeRoy. Earl had accepted an opportunity to manage the Hobbs store of The Acme Lumber Company of Oklahoma. In 1945 Mildred and Earl were blessed with their second child, another son, Jimmy. In the midforties the Williams family joined the First Presbyterian Church in Hobbs. The church body was an important part of the Williams family for over a half century. Mildred was of the opinion that her job was to be a loving and spportive mate for her husband, a loving and caring mother for her children, and a homemaker for her family. Mildred enjoyed being with family Holidays were a special time for her. She looked forward to seeing her mother and father, her brothers and sisters and their families, or her inlaws and their families.
