Mildred Wilkinson of Grand Junction, CO, went home to be with her heavenly Father on March 9, 2021 at the age of 90.  She went to sleep in this life and opened her eyes in heaven.

Mildred was born November 20, 1930 to Bryan and Mildred Nichols in Rifle, CO.

Mildred moved from Rifle to the Grand Valley in the ninth grade where she grew up and attended Fruita Union High School.

You could frequently find her sitting in front of the TV watching a football game. She kept herself well informed on political issues and was ready to chime in to a political debate.  But nothing interested her more than her grandchildren.

She married Lester Wilkinson in 1964 and he proceeded her in death in 2006 after 43 years of marriage. She is survived by her children Rita Kanten of Suffolk, VA, Lorna Divinny (Darryl) of Grand Junction, CO,  Barbara Weatherby (Doug) of Clifton, Gaius Wilkinson (Sandy) of Craig,  CO, Mark Wilkinson of Canyon City, CO, Cecil Wilkinson (Cindy) of Loma, CO,  daughter-in-law Darlene Wilkinson of Grand Junction, CO.
