Mikiko Kozlowski, 78, formerly of Union Pier, Michigan, died Sunday, July 10, 2005 in Lakeland Hospital, Niles, Michigan.

Mikiko was born in the year of the Tiger, July 21, 1926, in Tokyo, Japan to Kungi and Tane (Seino) Watanabe. She was a volunteer for the Red Cross in Japan after WWII and on December 12, 1951, in Japan, she married Edwin Kozlowski.

He preceded her in death. Mikiko was a woman with many talents, she owned Mikiko Fashions in Union Pier, where she created clothing and made alterations. Mikiko also enjoyed knitting, crocheting and oil painting. She was a member of the US Air force Auxiliary and the River Valley Garden Club. She had worked at Plastic Masters in New Buffalo, Michigan several years ago. Mikiko was on a bowling league and had the honor of being the high scoring bowler for 3 years. She bowled in many tournaments, and once was awarded 2 poodles as a prize.

Survivors include her daughters, Toni Harlow of Homosassa Springs, Florida and Frances (Charles) Nicholas of Three Oaks, grandchildren, Edwin, Eric and Mikiko, sisters, Yeiko, Kazuko and Taka, and her brothers, Toshio, Takeo and Metome.
