Mike E. Wicker, 48, of Anderson, passed away on September 25, 2012, at University Hospital, Louisville, Kentucky, after the result of an accident in southern Indiana. He was born on December 30, 1963, in Anderson, Indiana, and resided here all of his life. Mike graduated from Highland High in 1982.
He was an active Fireman for the City of Anderson for the past 27 years. Mike loved to play Bluegrass music, was an avid antique gun collector, and known for his sense of humor and love of life. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge and American Legion, both of Anderson. Mike was also a member of the F.O.F., Anderson, and the American Bluegrass Association.
Mike is survived by his love, Penny Jachim, and her children Ricky and Dani of Anderson; sisters, Kellie Mark Wile-Bush of Indianapolis, and Kerrie “Cookie” Wicker of Anderson; brother, Kenneth “Casey” Christine Wicker of Anderson. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews Kristal McCorkle, Kara Wile, Brady Fisher, and Carter Wicker, also his aunt, Elizabeth Godfrey of Anderson; cousin, Linda Wicker, and many other aunts and uncles.
Mike was also survived by the Garage Bluegrass Pickers thank you Floyd and Max, his Bean Blossom friends, and special friends Tim, Fred, Bill, Dave, Glenn, Bubba, and Granny, and many other friends and relatives too numerous to mention. He will be missed by his faithful Toby. He was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Shirli Wicker.
