Miguel Jesus “Jesse” Hernandez, age 43 years of Niles, Michigan died at 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at the home of a caregiving friend in Niles.

He was born on July 10, 1970 in Berrien Springs, Michigan to Jose Maldonaldo and Manuela (Torres) Hernandez. He was graduated from Niles High School, and has lived in Niles all of his life. He was formerly employed at the A. M. General plant in Mishawaka, and at Cana, Incorporated in Elkhart.

Jesse was a long-time member of Saint Mary Catholic Church, and has recently been attending Portage Road General Baptist Church, both in Niles. He was a great fan of the University of Michigan football team and enjoyed cook-outs with family and friends. He has also enjoyed the television series “Duck Dynasty”, and had collected items associated with that show, as well as collecting rosaries, Our Lady of Guadalupe vigil candles, and shot glasses.

He was previously married to Tammy Beavo; and was preceded in death by his parents, and by his siblings, Jose Zapata, Rose Grayam, Oscar Hernandez, and infants Guadalupe and Mary Ann; and by a sister-in-law, Barbara (Mrs. Fernando) Hernandez.

Surviving family includes his children, Josh Perry, twins Caleb and Jordan Hernandez, and Nicholas Hernandez, all of Niles; a granddaughter, Myah Hernandez; siblings Angelina (& Harvey) Bane of Mishawaka, Fernando (& Sue) Hernandez of Mishawaka, and Juan (& Angie) Hernandez of Niles; many nieces and nephews, and his companion, Chris Miller.
