Michelle was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend to many. Her kindness and warmth and ability to connect with others will always be remembered. Michelle was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada where her father Kenneth was a petroleum engineer. Kenneth relocated the family to Denver and subsequently Houston where Michelle attended Westfield high school. Michelle attended Southwest Texas State University and graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with a degree in Marketing. Michelle worked many years in the pharmaceutical industry in marketing and sales with Akorn, Dura, and Elan Pharmaceuticals before becoming a fulltime mother to her son Michael, who she adored. Michelle was a certified scuba instructor and she enjoyed the water.
Michelle met her beloved husband Bill Wilkerson after a chance encounter in New Orleans that led to many wonderful years of happiness and marriage. Michelle and Bill were married in New Orleans and lived there until relocating to North Carolina in 2012.
