Mr. Micheal Jerome Pryor, 36, transitioned suddenly as a result of an automobile accident on Thursday, August 10, 2023. Born October 12, 1985, Micheal was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerome (Rosa) Pryor and grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Paul (Mariah) Pryor of Branchville, South Carolina, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Andrew (Georgianna) Berry, Sr. of Bowman, South Carolina.
At an early age, Micheal joined Canaan Baptist Church, and he also attended Pineville United Methodist Church, where he worked with the Youth Department and participated as a member of the Young Adult Choir. Later, at Canaan Baptist Church, he was appointed as a trustee where he served on the Board of Trustees. While in Georgia, Micheal regularly attended Cascade United Methodist Church in Atlanta. His professional affiliations included the South Carolina Counseling Association, Chi Sigma Iota Counseling Academic and Professional Honor Society, and the National Education Association. He was also a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated, Denmark Alumni Chapter and the Atlanta Alumni Chapter.
Survivors include Micheal’s parents, Jerome and Rosa Pryor; two sisters, Jerona Marie Pryor and Serkia Mack; a special nephew, Jermari Parler; and a special niece, Jerbrittia Mariah Pryor, whom Michael adored. He loved and guided his nephew and niece as if they were his own children. Micheal also leaves Kayden Bennett, his cousin of the home, to cherish his memory; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, colleagues, fraternity brothers, former classmates, students, friends, and a family friend, Mr. Rodney Goldsmith. Micheal has left an indelible print and legacy on many.
Micheal had an amazing passion for participating in community-service projects and promoting students’ academic success, for he had a penchant to assist anybody who needed support and encouragement. In fact, he took great pride in encouraging everyone. Motivated and focused, Michael had lofty goals for himself as well as for others, and he was determined to see those aspirations achieved–regardless of the challenges. Micheal will be sorely missed by a host of family and friends who dearly loved him and recognized that he lived a purposeful life. Micheal understood that “We who are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak” (Romans 15:1), and it was with much fortitude and conviction that he often did so.
