Michael Wendel “Mike” Weekly, age 64, of Greensboro, GA died Friday, September 7, 2018 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA. Born in Columbus, Ohio on December 12, 1953, he was the son of the late Edward Joseph Weekly, Sr. and Frances Elizabeth Bower Weekly. He graduated from Licking Heights High School in Summit Station, Ohio. Mike proudly served his country in the United States Army as a military policeman during the Vietnam Era. On October 22, 1988, he married Billie Jean Hubbard who preceded him in death in April of 2016. In the past he had worked for the Union Point Police Department and the Greene County Sheriff’s Office. At the time of his death he was working for Athens Technical College as a security guard. He enjoyed collecting trains, playing chess and watching Star Trek.
Survivors include his daughter, Teia Shea Weekly and granddaughter, Tianna Shea Ford of Lake Placid, FL; stepchildren, Heather Lynn Sanford, Brian Lewis Stewart, and Jason Eugene Stewart; brothers, Edward Joseph “EJ” Weekly, Jr. (Linda) and Terry Allen Weekly; other relatives and many friends.
