Michael “Poppi” Mercaldo, 74 of Milford, and beloved husband to Karen Leckie Mercaldo of 53 years, entered into eternal rest on January 3rd, 2015 peacefully at his home. Born on February 8th, 1940 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Vincent and Florence Humphreys Mercaldo. Michael moved to Milford, CT in 1965 where he spent his remaining years.
In addition to his wife Karen, he is survived by his loving children, Renee Mercaldo Allen (Art) of Clinton, CT, Thomas Mercaldo (Pam) of Milford, CT and Sally (Mercaldo) Reed (Lincoln) of Wallingford, CT. He was the loving grandfather of Morgan Allen, Kendal Reed, Sam Allen, Christopher Mercaldo, Shannon Reed, James Mercaldo and Molly Mercaldo. He is also survived by his sister Dolores (Mercaldo) Schueleter, and was predeceased by his sisters Valencia Freyer and Janet Schkolenko.
