Michael Todd Kennedy, 53, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, October 11, 2021.
Mike was born on July 5, 1968, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Alvin Kennedy and Kathryn Kennedy.
He graduated from Fort Osage High School in Independence, Missouri, in 1986. That same year he enlisted in the Navy where he traveled the world while on duty on the USS Trenton and later the USS Ricketts. He proudly served as a boiler technician until his honorable discharge in 1993.
Mike will lovingly be remembered as a giver. He had a boat to take you fishing, he taught his nieces and nephews how to play Spades, riding his four-wheeler on weekends, and he rebuilt a Ford 8N to plow snow for the neighbors.
Mike was preceded in death by his father Alvin Kennedy, paternal grandparents, Dellona Kennedy and Elmer Dale Kennedy, maternal grandparents, Vera C. and Lewis E. Lund. Mike is survived by his mother Kathryn Canfield, his sisters Renee Harris and Michelle Bohall, brother Ryan Kennedy. Mike will be greatly missed by his many nieces and nephews.
