Following graduation from Capital High School, Mike spread his wings in search of adventure.  He landed in Alaska where he earned a living working on the oil pipeline.  After a number of years and a wallet full of cash, Mike yearned to return home to be with his family and friends.  In the years to come, Mike lived a life none of us should have to endure.  Mike became afflicted with numerous impairments that changed his course forever.  He dealt with many of life’s hardships on a daily basis, yet no one would ever know by his actions, thoughtfulness, and generosity. Mike never asked or expected anything from anyone except for the occasional acceptance of lunch together.

Although Mike never had children of his own, he experienced a lifetime of youthful moments through his ever present love and support of his many nieces and nephews.  He consistently attended functions, from school programs to sporting events, and every celebration. He took great joy in his family and all of their activities and endeavors.  His everlasting support for them will be cherished forever.

Mike had the gift of maintaining a child’s innocence of trusting and befriending everyone he met.  He approached everything and everyone with a smile.

After many years, Mike was able to build a house of his own.  It was his pride and joy.

As a brother, Mike had no equal.  If we needed help, he was the first to volunteer. Mike had an amazing heart.  He approached everyone with kindness, willing to give endlessly, and asked for nothing in return.  He touched the lives of all he encountered.  He continually blessed us with his presence and our lives are better for having him in it.  He will be missed by all.

Mike is survived by his four siblings, Jody Clark (Fillipe), Willy Hebert (Becki), Tammy Smith (Greg), Jeff Hebert (Michelle), and his nieces and nephews, Megan Sienicki, Ross Clark, Kaitlin Clark, Jennifer Hebert, Jake Hebert, Austin Smith, Jared Smith, Matthew Hebert, Christina Hebert, Sophia Hebert, and Nicholas Hebert. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Lois Hebert.
